Recommended Resource: Vroom
From time to time, we feature apps, websites, videos, or other resources that would be great for families and their children. Unless otherwise noted, we are not affiliates for these resources, we just think it's something worth sharing!
I recently found Vroom mentioned one of the many newsletters I receive, and it may sound like a cliché, but it really does make learning easy. Vroom has a website, newsletter, a free phone app, and a YouTube channel, filled with wonderful (and easy!) ideas for getting your child thinking and exploring.
Vroom is designed to give you quick activities that you can do with your child throughout the day to build your child's brain. There are ideas for certain times of day (such as getting dressed, mealtime, in the car, at the store, etc.) or random ideas that work anytime (such as experimenting with textures, songs, etc.). It's especially great if you have a tough time remembering to narrate your day or talk about things you see in the environment. It's not always easy to think of those things when you are busy running errands or getting through the day, but the app has an alarm feature to remind you of the task. When you download the app, you can set up your children's names and birthdays to get personalized tips. It's created for young children up to the age of 5.
The website has tips that you can download as a PDF and share, while the YouTube site has videos in English and Spanish that demonstrate and explain the activities.
I downloaded the app and found it very easy to use. Check out these screenshots, then try it for yourself - the free app is available on Apple, Android, and Amazon!
