Katie received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Occupational Therapy from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. After a month abroad in Vrindavan, India working with children living in poverty, she decided to dedicate her career to working with children. Katie has spent her career as an occupational therapist assisting children in clinical, home and school-based settings to promote success and confidence. She focuses on using structure, encouragement, and humor to support each child’s development. She has experience working with a variety of diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Dyspraxia, feeding disorders, Anxiety Disorder, and other conditions affecting fine motor skills or coordination. She has taken courses on feeding, strengthening strategies and approaches to treating vestibular disorders to expand her skill set. She strives to address all aspects of a child’s environment and utilize holistic approaches to maximize success. Katie works with the entire family to understand how best to support a child. She enjoys celebrating milestones and seeing the progress that her clients make. She is passionate about her work and feels very fortunate to be able to spend her time doing what she loves! In her free time, Katie enjoys hiking, fly-fishing, camping, crafting, and spending time outdoors.
