Alyssa Cure, OTD, OTR/L

Pediatric Therapist

Alyssa pursued a career in occupational therapy after working with an adaptive sports program for children with disabilities during her undergraduate education at Gonzaga University. She was moved by the power of meaningful occupation and the impact the therapists had on the children’s lives. She knew this was her niche. She loves the vibrant and innocent nature children embody and the ability to help enable them to live successful, independent lives. Alyssa achieved her doctorate in occupational therapy at Creighton University, shortly after, specializing in sensory integration. She works to incorporate sensory strategies into each session to improve organization, self-regulation and attention. Alyssa worked for an outpatient and home health clinic in Dallas, TX for two years before moving back to her hometown of Denver.

Alyssa has worked with children who have an array of diagnoses including overall developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, vision impairments, and sensory integration deficits. Through her experience, Alyssa has learned to be flexible in any environment and adapt to ever changing situations, treating children at their home, school and in a clinic setting. She thrives interacting with families, teachers, and other therapists to ensure holistic care. Alyssa has designed and carried out groups for social skills development and handwriting/fine motor improvement.

In her spare time, Alyssa loves cheering on all of her favorite sports teams, especially her beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs. She enjoys hanging out with her family, hitting the slopes, hiking, paddle boarding, and soaking up the Colorado sun.
